Part of the reason I chose my MBA program was that the average # of years of experience was 8ish rather than 3-5ish, like a normal program. I elected NOT to do the EMBA because of the hellish schedule (I couldn't get every other Friday off of work) and the incredible expense. All that said, like you, I find the real-world discussions to be the best part of the program, and I hear the discussions of the part-time program (where most of us work real jobs) are much richer in that aspect.

I also come from technology, but I was already the head of a small department, so I needed the management and finance techniques more than anything. Doesn't it just come down to your needs? Any program has inherent value, but value to the individual is different.

Needing caffeine now... (36 more hours in class before the #$%^& degree!)
