		<description>Really interesting.  It reminds me of something we learned in a &quot;self-defense for women&quot; class: that people (and especially women) under violent criminal attack are often sabotaged by the fictional stories they&#039;ve absorbed over the years, stories of helpless victimhood, which prime them to make bad decisions or to freeze up.  One of the most important lessons in the class was reprogramming your unthinking instincts, throwing out the bad, disabling stories, practicing effective defenses that would - in a sense - overwrite those with useful stories of effective resistance.  I&#039;d never thought of it in terms of RPD theory but it sure fits.</description>
